    We advise that the application by Ranger Minerals Ltd ("Ranger") to
    the Supreme Court of Western Australia for approval to convene a
    meeting of its shareholders to consider and vote on the merger
    between Ranger and Perilya was heard on Friday 16th August 2002.

    The Court reserved its decision until 3.15 pm today.
