A 40:1 share consolidation on the day it happened meant that shareholders had 1/40th of the shares they previously held, but the SP should rise 40 times to allow for this meaning no change in the MC or the value of shares held, but again, that just relates to the first day they started trading after the consolidation and is not related to any ongoing share price trend of a falling share price.
