I'm not really a chartist and don't hold a chart-based view.
In the old days there was no lightbulb button but there was a down button. The number of unwarranted pile-on that occurred necessitated the change. It was all about expressing emotion or maybe entertainment and I don't think a lot has changed.
There's a very big peanut gallery. Over the years PEN has been a real "forum'.
A sense of humour is requisite.
