So, now the facts are on the table, let's do the maths.
Historic spend - US$173M (from annual report)
Future spend - US$461M
Total spend - US$634M
The above spend for a 3M lb/a plant = US$210 per annual pound. That's off the charts mate. Typical CAPEX spend for PEN peers would be in the region of US$100 per annual pound (some higher, some lower). I don't have the numbers to hand but I'm happy with that estimate - the info is out there, look it up.
On this metric, PEN compares woefully.
