Yes, LiBs work well for short periods while gas power stations are being fired up but for 100% renewables you need longer term storage. There has already been much research on this matter and the consensus is the bulk of the storage will be either pumped hydro or hydrogen. But once you factor in the transmission costs from remote locations and storage costs, you are better of using modular nuclear power plants.
