    @bunny12

    Haven't voted since 1975, always paid my "fine" but not last time,

    the Canning by-election, so I go to court on 14th Sept. this year.

    Have not, and will not, even get my name crossed off !

    Can expect another court case for not voting today.

    When I last won a 'tipping comp', donated 20% to the then HC fighting fund,

    and if my $20 fine went to charity, would gladly pay $40 !

    Of the 112,809 eligible voters, 23,092 people failed to vote,

    but some would have an "acceptable and valid reason",

    for not doing so. A lot use 'religious grounds' for not voting,

    but does the A.E.C. check if they are of that faith? NO.

    I could LIE, and use that as an excuse, but won't.

    Informal votes, ARE NOT counted as a vote, so the 5,082 that voted informally,

    should be in the 'dock' with me, along with a good % of the 23,092 others that did not vote.

    I'm not being taken to court, or fined, for NOT VOTING, but for NOT getting my name CROSSED OFF.

    Because they can't tell which of the voters, 89,717 in total, were the 5,082 informal voters,

    they don't get penalised. My next door neighbour is on the electoral roll,

    did NOT vote, but has had NO correspondence, from the A.E.C. ??

    All up, 28,174 or around 25% of voters, did NOT vote formally.
