    Hi all,

I was sent an email from the environment agency over in the UK. It looks like that WLF will get the permits from the environment agency in the UK, the only thing that will stop WLF getting permits, is if they stuff up all of the paper work for it, and I can't see WLF doing that. The environment agency is about to a draft a draft permit, showing the proposed condition for the permits.

So not long to go now maybe another month before we hear news of this, I'm confidence that WLF will get all PERMITS for the tungsten mine in the UK!

It could be a good time to top-up on WLF!

Environmental permit application for Hemerdon mine, Devon.

In our last briefing note in September we explained how we had consulted with members of the public and our partner organisations and were considering those responses in order to reach a decision about this permit application. This briefing note explains what is happening now.

    What is happening?

We have been considering the permit application for a mining waste facility at Hemerdon and the comments we’ve received about it. On the basis of the information we have so far, we consider that we will be able to grant a permit.

We are producing a draft permit, showing the proposed conditions for this activity, and a draft decision document. The decision document will summarise what we've done to take account of all legal and technical requirements, and all the information and comments we received during the consultation period. We intend publishing these documents on Monday 11 November and we will share them with our partners, such as Public Health England, Natural England, Devon County Council, South Hams District Council and Plymouth City Council. We will also make them available to the public.

We do this to ensure there is no further information which would affect our final decision. We will consider any new information provided to us before the deadline of Monday 9th December 2013. We will announce our final decision after considering any comments received. The steps we follow in deciding whether to grant or refuse a permit are defined by legal requirements and we are required to justify this decision within the confines of these legal limitations. For example, it would not be appropriate for us to refuse the permit simply because there was local opposition to the activity being carried out at this location. However, we will consider any relevant information that is raised through the consultation that was not part of the permit application.

Where can I see the documents?

We will make the documents available on our website at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/research/library/consultations/150579.aspx

What if I have any questions?

We are hosting a public event on Tuesday 19 November 2013, 3.00pm to 7.30pm at Plympton Conservative Club, 109 Ridgeway, Plymouth PL7 2AA. Our staff will be there to answer any questions about the draft permit and decision document. There will also be response forms available for anyone who wishes to supply additional information for us to consider.

Also the draft will be available to see on this link below from 9.00am on 11 November 2013, I think this is UK time to see the draft.

Good luck to all that hold WLF
