As promised yesterday, for anyone that is interested, I have done a price comparison of PEN to PENOA and PENOC for the week in table and chart form (see below).
What I note from the data is that, compared to PEN:
1. PENOC was most expensive on Monday, and cheapest on Thursday, providing a $0.007 arbitrage opportunity for the week
2. PENOA was most expensive on Monday and Thursday, and cheapest on Friday, providing a $0.003 arbitrage opportunity for the week
While the arbitrage opportunity for PENOC is larger than for PENOA, trading in PENOC is less liquid, so the full arbitrage opportunity would be more difficult to achieve than for PENOA.
Also take note this analysis only compares closing prices. Greater opportunities may or probably will have existed on intra-day price differences between PEN and the options.
