I would be careful on that point. Different rules apply to traders v investors.
I believe (& recommend to check with your accountant) if the oc's expire worthless you CANNOT claim (if an investor) ie the loss of capital.
If your say spent $10k on the oppies at x cents, & now no longer have any value.
It is different if you sold them at .01 & actually had a capital loss of $9,900 for example.
It can be complex so pay the dollars & get the right advice for your situation (trader or not)
