Watso, for your information, I have the latest 3 month details on all Government payments including the aged pension. The yearly income for a couple is $30024.8, for a single person is $19916.
Given what I pay myself out of my own Superannuation and how I live now as a single person, I think those payments are very generous, particularly if one owns one's home.
