I sometimes yearn for the quieter older times when my stockbroker would phone me !
He would also send his account after about three weeks to ask me if I could please pay for the shares that I had purchased
No internet, phone were dirt cheap, to connect to the stock broker it was a 10 pence phone call or a stamp of about 3 pence (it's too long ago to remember precisely)
I could also have real conversations with him about the state of the world in general
