I have to agree with Watso, acorn you have also neglected to add in the many other benefits the Pensioners enjoy, and I no doubt have not got the total list:- discounts on council rates
discounted water rates
rebates on Gas and Electricity
car registration fees
exemption from TMR fees for licences, motor vehicle tax, etc
discounts on purchases from myriad retailers, like Woolies, Coles, Coffee Club, the list is endless from 5% to 10%
medical expenses including prescriptions
PBS safety net
free vaccinations
free prescription spectacles
As I said, the list goes on and on, you also overlooked the recent $250 one off payment to all card holders and supplements paid such as pension supplement, whatever that is, probably a left over from Rudd`s Government, and rent assistance supplement and energy supplement.
I don`t hear too many pensioners whinging about their lot in life, not like the old days in the 1980s and there abouts.
