"Finally - if you keep taxing the "rich" and those taxpayers that drive investment and create jobs, they eventually move to another country.

The problem that we face is that our tax base is actually shrinking. An increase in the GST rate will happen within the next five years. Whether the Libs or the ALP bring it in is the only variable in the equation."

I believe an increased GST is inevitable, essential.

Still irks me that super-rich get out of paying tax by moving their "company base" off-shore to places like the Cayman Islands.

You seem to be knowledgeable in these matters.... you don't know a bloke called Henry, do you?

Noticed Credit Suisse got fined for allowing wealthy to hide their wealth there...... many companies still get away with too much.... and the widening gap between CEOs of big companies and workers in companies pay.

One could naively suggest some global agreement to get the mega-rich to pay up, but IMO, there is a fair bit of evidence the globalists just love globalization and what it makes them..... company based (legally) here, produce in so and so.... sell your goods in thingamabob.... too easy for them at the moment, isn't it?
