You make a couple of valid points but a raft of made up nonsense spoils it. The leader of the quds was not a benign peacemaker. Those that live by the sword die by the sword. The Shia people dominate Iraq, the ayatollah financially and spiritually "guides" the Shia. What would you expect in this situation? Flowers and praise for trump. Trump wants to withdraw troops. Trump will not hold back if Iran responds Iran will lose. Iran has not responded, expect sabre rattling and token efforts. The Ayatollah is under political pressure in his home country, if the regime looks weak the people might internally remove the regime without the US directly being involved. It is a dangerous situation but if Iran regime suicides by confronting the US in a serious way then that is their call.
