This is the latest clinical trial for CLE in Gastroenterology and is being used in conjunction with a Pentax Iscan HD endoscope. It must be galling for Pentax that a Mauna Kea probe is being used when Pentax had an embedded system using the OIL scope. In any event the door is still open for Optiscan when they get back to their probe after the work on Zeiss and MR Solutions is complete. CLE was always to be used in conjunction with HD scopes to better target the need for biopsy. Pentax must surely watch this trial with interest and might again come knocking at the door of Optiscan!!
