In conclusion, a 15-minutes inhalation of methoxyflurane in- duces an acute but short-lasting impairment of psychomotor and cognitive performance in all age groups, and function returns to normal within 30 minutes after inhalation. These findings in- dicate that subjects who use inhaled Penthrox for colonoscopy can safely return, the same day, to tasks that require high-level psychomotor skills such as driving and work.
