This is all about selling the fairytale of a socialist utopia to the ignorant.
The mining "super profits" was always an illusion ,the reality of the industry is high risk, capital intensive and very competitive.
The concept that we can all put our feet up and benefit from enterprises which we have contributed absolutely zilch is laughable
but easily sold by left politicians.There will great disappointment when reality hits home and the tax bonanza proves to be just rhetoric but all is good we can just fund the budget shortfall with borrowings.
Successive governments have sold the fairytale ,the end game is the Greek tragedy - socialism -the only intrinsic virtue is the sharing of misery
