In the future, Volkswagen will only be active in motorsport with electric cars. The Golf GTI TCR combustion engine for the race track, which will be produced until the end of this year, will not be replaced. Last week it was announced that the Group intended to spend almost 60 billion euros between 2020 and 2024 on e-mobility, hybrid drives and digitisation. This corresponds to more than 40 percent of all investments in property, plant and equipment and development. Around 33 billion euros are to be invested in electromobility alone.
