My thoughts:-
NIMBYism - what makes the coast line off Newcastle so special? More special than 90 Mile Beach? Wilson's Promontory? 12 Apostles? WA coast line? Tiwi Islands? It's actually an insult to those other communities to single out NSW as being more important, fact is, NSW is not.
Misrepresentation - projecting oil rigs in Sydney Harbour, off Manly, off Palm Beach has been effective for the "opposition", it needs to be pointed out as false.
Scomo - Unprecedented - from both a constitutional and industry perspective. He lied when he announced he was cancelling the permit, he was not doing it as Prime Minister, he had secretly usurped Keith Pitt and was actually Resources Minister. He lied to cover that up. At an industry level, a PM has never intervened in A NOPTA matter.
Gas - NSW is charging forward to frack and pollute the Murray Darling Basin, and build polluting import terminals, both are environmentally way more damaging that offshore exploration which has been incident free in Australia for 50 years.
It didn't change my vote, the list of reasons not to vote Scomo were too long even before the permit got cancelled.
