Labor knew that if they were to reject the application, they would be better situated if a less biased joint Authority made the decision. That was the predominant theory for why Madeleine King gave the role to Ed Husic.
That has always made sense in theory but in practice that delegation or handover or recusal needed to happen before 17/10/23, which it didn't. Bias. Nothing achieved. Are they that dumb?
The key document in the King/Husic saga was withheld when the relevant FOI was considered. Not even redacted, wholly withheld. It will come out in discovery if it gets to that.
