They've spent many years building the Philippine payment platform.... adding billers one by one where in a more developed financial system everybody could just use EFT.
I'd say their experience, relationships and expertise in a financial system with high barriers to entry is their advantage here..... in The Philippines.
They would do better to leverage that with rollout of more vertically integrated products than to try entering new markets IMHO.
With the exception of Remittances which can be used to feed funds into the ecosystem in the way the new Bank Integration will. Remember PIL already have a Remittance platform which has lain dormant.... No doubt they will be dusting that off soon?
