One of things about a double blinded placebo controlled trial is noone knows the results until the trial is completed.
What we do know, is that patients that have finished their 6 monthly trial period have stayed enrolled for the expansion trial. This could be because they have seen improvement and want more. Or they saw no improvement and think they may have been on the placebo and wanna see what the real drug does.
Logically, one would think communication between the DMD community would give some idea of improvement or not. So this would, I think, give greater weight to the first option of families wanting to keep their son being treated with the drug.
Management cant give any results as they dont have them. Perhaps improvement from those on the expansion trial could be announced, but that could jeopardise the blinded trial.
They know what can and cant be announced. So we wait.
