    "Rather than look to lower their average cost per unit, they are simply wanting to know when best to exit their positions."

    I can understand that from the point of view of no new contributions coming in, no income being generated in order to average (except for the cmw distributions), and perhaps wanting to rebalance and put more money into something that is active, eg lithium stocks.

    However, for those that are earlier on in the process of SMSF, then its a case of keep accumulating. It is the wrong time to sell, and the right time to buy with a stock like this.

    I accept that it might be annoying to have a big red paper loss burning holes in one's eyeballs though. For example, I had slowly accumulated ~$15k worth at an average of 0.73c in my own personal account, and so thats a ~25% loss, so its just locked there until things improve. The consolation being that I intend to hold it for a long time, perhaps even after retirement, which for me is still 20 to 30 years from now, depending how my poor old joints go.
