With 55 miners and processors of graphite in Shandong Province closed (in Dec. 2013) due to failure to comply with environmental regulations, and many others likely to be closed in the Heilongjiang Province; and with China probably reducing her exportation quota for graphite, a perfect storm is brewing for exchange-listed graphite miners. Well, the graphite miners actually ready to sell to market, I mean (like Valence Industries). I don't feel that the exploratory entities will benefit (though I could be wrong); but the established miners (listed on stock exchanges) should see a tremendous surge in interest from investment fund managers all over the world looking for a way to capitalise on this rare opportunity.
Here is an interview recently given by Christopher Darby, CEO, of Valence Industries. He says that one of the graphite variants he has could sell for 20k (U.S.) per tonne(!).
