Hi Mr Hustler,
In my view, source rock maturity remains the key subsurface risk for PEL87 but after further reading, I'm coming around to thinking we are in with a chance that source rocks proximal to PEL87 may be thermally mature enough to generate oil. I tend to agree with MidDigitalHair, who postulates that the light oil + gas discoveries at Venus and Graff to the south of PEL87, suggest that the source rocks charging these discoveries are of higher thermal maturity than previously thought, and therefore more light oil and gas prone than those source rocks proximal to PEL87. If indeed this is accurate, as we head north from Venus and Graff towards PEL87, the shallower source rocks proximal to PEL87 may also be of higher thermal maturity, although less thermally mature than the Venus and Graff source rocks because they are at a shallower depth. There is no denying though, that the source rocks encountered in the Moosehead-1 well in PEL87 are thermally immature (too shallow/cold and hence not in the oil generation window.

Below is some technical information I sourced ages ago which also postulates that the sources rock proximal to PEL87 are thermally mature for oil (light green colours) . NOTE: I am still trying find where I originally sourced these data from as I wanted to include the link. Unsuccessful so.......
