It is indeed a known reservoir risk for the Namibian offshore; which is an old volcanic margin. Wells to the north encountered volcanics instead of the expected turbidite in the Barremian-Aptian (approx time of breakup) and I understand other wells in the region encountered volcanics mixed with Lower Cretaceous sands. Volcanics typically manifest as bright amplitudes on seismic, and can be mistaken for turbidites. It's all part of the risk profile. For mine, it is an acceptable risk in PEL87.
