Irish, Paul Little has as much riding on the future viability of Toll than you or I. He owns the majority of the scrip and he built this behemoth to a brilliant well run company.
Toll as it stands today has virtually no debt and is the dominant logistics outfit in Australia & NZ with a major outreach in Asia.
Another thing is Paul Little knows the limits. He is far removed from noise (compare him to Eddy Groves of ABC or Phil Green of BNB who pursued growth at all cost) with a calculated ruthlessness in mind for his owners.
Its far better and easier to cottail off those with extreme skin and expertise than try to reinvent the wheel for a few points.
Also, he has no control over the short term gyration of the share price - and particularly through turbulent times. He can position the business to go from strength to strength, as he has since Toll became a listed entity.
