Political parties sometimes lose their reason to exist or purpose.
The old CPA disbanded itself. Remember the Democrat Party or the DLP?
The Liberals became such a broad church that they believed in nothing. Currently they are planning a series of focus groups to discover what they believe in. Rather than being a party based on values they are a party looking for values.
The party of Turnbull, Peter Slipper, Scott Morrison, Julian Leeser and Matt Kean may as well not exist; these people would be just as well in the Greens, Teals or ALP.
The Conservative side of politics needs to put up a vigorous alternative, the Liberal Party isn't it and is just wasting space.
