Raider, I suspect you are a long term ALP supporter, no shame in that. However what you are suggesting is that the main opposition party has the same or similar policies.
I suggest our democracy is best served by having different policy offerings, a battle of ideas, vigorous (polite) intellectual tussle and competition.
The current Liberal Party isn't a viable alternative government, even if their focus groups throw up some popular ideas.
