    Sadly, the NSW election is in 2 weeks.

    The way it should work is that the bureaucracy keeps the wheels turning for 'non-political' things like this.

    More likely, there is paralysis and it'll extend for a few weeks after the new government is installed.

    Best case is someone in the current government wants some cheap media through announcing it, but really it's not likely to be big enough for it to get that kind of traction.
