imo opinion and Ben has reiterated this a couple of times over the years QE is an appropriate response to deflation.
Given that inflation figures lately around the world have been so tame I think it will be closer than you think.
His window of opportunity is closing due to presidentual elections next year. If he doesnt go in the next couple of months he cant till after the presidentuals.
Given that gold is priced in USD, Your right its only USD printing that will affect gold price.
Probably have a fairly muted effect on Aussie gold price as the AUD would rise in line with gold price although this may not prove to be correct as we could see a world wide switch from currency of all denominations to gold which could then see an outsized increase in the POG.
