    Well for mine, we do have a problem.

    I believe in both a level of AGW and natural climate variation. The proportion of each is anyone's guess.

    What does not need to be guessed is that there will be climate events in the future that will be totally outside of human control that will impact human civilization. Whether it is caused by volcanic eruption, solar activity, tectonic plate movement, meteorite impact etc. Who knows what it will be but it is guaranteed to happen.

    What is the point spending trillions of dollars on eliminating human C02 emissions when a volcano can wipe out life on a continent and then there is no money left to prepare or to adapt.

    Sure we should be looking at ways to use all natural resources as efficiently as possible and of course this will in turn will reduce CO2 emissions. Also, we should be supplying this tech to the third world to reduce poverty and death.

    However, to those who think that the climate is no longer a threat if we simply move to 100% renewables is horribly naive.
