In various western countries with substantial Muslim minorities, even in some with tiny minorities, there is a constant pressure to allow some aspects of Sharia or traditional Islamic law to be recognised. Some support even comes from deluded liberal fellow travellers. In the UK I understand some Sharia courts even operate with a nod & a wink and what they decide might even be upheld in the UK judicial system.
This article is a timely reminder of just how barbaric the sharia rules are and why we must never allow even the thinnest of a thin wedge.
