When I invested heavily pre-GFC, I was careful to choose a country friendly to U namely Namibia. Even that wasn't enough in the long term to provide security with one layer of risk, regulation & approval, removed. You don't hear the Western developed nations adding N Power to their energy debate even when they kept focusing on global warming. Even Japan the most N friendly of the past besides France is fighting a difficult battle with the public sentiment and yearly earthquakes as constant reminders.

I reckon there are better energy sectors with less of a black swan type event like what is being experienced currently with regulatory approvals. Good luck.
