We have to think this through and apply logic, science and conform to reality, not just read a snippet from the Bible and then create a mental picture that ignores the countless things that just could not happen. The story is impossible to be literal. I'm not sure doves fly about with olive leaves in their mouths because they are seed eaters and they do not use leaves to make nests. It's a story and the writer came up with a way for Noah to get an inkling of what was going on in the flood by employing a dove and a leaf.

The ark was floating around for close to a year and comes down in the same region it started off in. It could have touched ground in South America or Russia. That would have stuffed up the narrative. Noah wouldn't have had a clue where he was. Lol
