Here's the mother of all research. I did mine & thought of sharing this, as Z-1 unfolds.

I 've put together a brief description on the wells drilled in the nearby block i.e. Perseus field drilled & discovered in 1996 by Woodside & 1 well by mobil (Athena-1).

Basically am covering Perseus-1, 2, 3, 3A, P-South 1, Athena-1 & Capella-1. Note that HC here means hydrocarbon & LGF: Legendre formation.

Perseus-1: Operator Woodside
TD: 3400m, Drill time: 19 days, spud: 10/2/96, TD: 28/2/96

Encountered HC's below 3105m RT in Legendre formn (LGF).

Gross Oil column of 108m from 3105m & 62m gas column in upper LG sst from 3037m to 3105m RT depth. Avg porosity 17-23%. Well was P&A as it confirmed existence of large gas pool.

Perseus-2:
TD: 3368m, Days: 16 days, from 4/1/96 to 19/1/96

Located 2.8km NW of P-1.
Intersected gas bearing in Mid-Jurassic SST. Logs confirm 145m gas interval, Porosity: 20% HC saturation: 63%. Reservoir better developed then P-1.
Well was P&A'd as successful appraisal well.

P-3: Abandoned at 1876m, as they lost bottom hole assembly, redrilled as P-3A

P-3A:
TD: 3915m, Days: 23, from 29/3/96 to 20/4/96

Confirmed HC bearing sands in LGF.

Perseus South-1:
TD: 3465m, Days: 14, frm 9/10/96 to 22/10/96

Found 114m HC bearing SST in the calypso & LG formations.
Avg porosity: 22%, HC saturation: 58%, not fully drilled in LGF & was P&A'd at 3465m

Capella-1:
TD: 4132m, Days: 19 frm 17/11/96 to 5/12/96

Top of reservior at 3141m. Cut 89m of core. Found 30.5m HC sst, porosity: 17% and gas till 3172m depth.

Athena:1 (drilled by Mobil)
TD: 3355m, Days: 19, frm 21/9/97 to 9/10/97

Muderong Shale is the local seal for Perseus field.
Cut 118m of core from 3128 to 3246m. Most productive sequence is from 3147m to 3186m & 3202m to 3224m. Net 57m HC SST in LGF. Well was P&A as it proved extension of Perseus field from block WA-1 to WA-248P.

I had posted a map in an earlier post today so refer to get an idea on well locations. As per this, there's gas in the LGF & the thickness varies considerably from 30m to more.

Also it appears that drill rate could b faster then anticipated & Z-1 could b in the zone of interest quicker then anticipated (early feb)IMO.
