Jim Rodgers ,and other notable investors have recognised the value of commodities ,and in particular agriculture commodities are expected to be the next boom .Whereas we can all hold of buying a new car or toaster ,or flat screen television for a couple of years ,we all consume a relatively stable amount of food .So there is not the same elasticity with the demand for food products .Rodgers is saying that tangible assets such as commodities is the place to be ,as they are always worth something .The same cant be said for many businesses or paper assets .They have been known to disappear .The only way a ton of copper or zinc or phosphate will disappear is if someone steals it .It will always have a base worth .Potential miners such as MAK that has billions of dollars worth of phosphate in the ground , will be the big beneficiaries of this boom over the next couple of years .
