On number 4 - it was a just a throwaway joke. He was paying tribute to how Wu was one of a kind and would be tough to replace, joking that maybe we can find his brother.As for the other points of original poster, the only of substance is point 3, but I agree with your response. I think he was trying to convey a bit clumsily that part of the value of the brand is its perception of quality and exclusivity. They can't control exactly what quantities are on every shelf in every store and when they reorder, restock etc. So the policy has been to err on the side of undersupply, rather than oversupply, and not be too concerned when shelves run bare, because it is free marketing in a way. As you say, they have guaranteed direct supply to Aus parents through their website in that event as well.
The benefit of this approach is that now in a downturn, rather than a massive oversupply and widespread discounting (which would damage the brand), there is just less shortages than usual and maybe sporadic oversupply in some stores. Protecting the brand, price point, and margins is the priority, which is why this company is so profitable.
