Birds have been dying from flu for thousands if not millions of years, man has been handling birds for hundreds if not thousands of years!!!
It is likely that in China and some other Asian countries dozens if not hundreds of people have died from these "flus" every year for decades if not hundreds of years. These deaths have not previously been diagnosed. They can be diagnosed now due to advances in pathology and the mobility of scientific test facilities.
I'm not convinced this is a valid threat to mankind, sounds like another SARS, but no where near as bad.
Even the models for a pandemic suggest that as many as 200,000 could die in Australia, that maybe true but over what period of time - ??
You don't want Bird Flu, don't play or work with birds!!
You fly in a plane, take a bus, go to a theatre etc with a cold, wear a mask, it should be compusory anyway!!
Scaremongering, for no valid reason IMO.
