For those who are unaware of the amount of copper used in a standard battery electric vehicle (lithium battery): approx. 200lbs of copper is used compared to a petrol vehicle which uses approx. 18-49lbs of copper.

Of the 142 currently under construction lithium-ion battery megafactories in the world, 107 of these are being built in China. China knows that the future will be electric vehicles and copper needed to build these.
