Units and top end properties rents have not gone up and in some cases yes gone down.
Middle range houses are still scarce to rent,try looking for a 4 bedder under $400pw.
Population rate of growth has slowed instead of 80,000 plus per year we may be closer to 50,000 but I bet it is more.

1000 properties sold last week, winter and election slowest time of the year and the buyers are going for it.
Everybody wants to talk down Perth but the facts are that properties are selling and proof of increase as Zed stated.
18 months ago there were 15 properties for sale under $300k in Rock and about another 20 between $300k - $400k.
Go to realestate.com.au Now around 5 houses under $400k (ignore the house and land packages they are in Baldivis or from prices)The market is returning to normal by our standards.
