If you believe in property you're much better off buying bank stocks - with a 7% fully franked yield vs a 2% net yield in houses (4% gross yield minus all the maintenance expenses + rates etc..).
Bank shares - give you a 7% net yield - and the tax has been paid for you.
vs a 2% net yield from a house that may be termite infested for all we know(that you still need to pay tax on that).
