I went through the process of having to update my details last year sometime.
It started off with a few emails, which I ignored as I assumed they were scam emails due to the fact that I've had an account with the PM and have been buying precious metals from them for over 20 years.
I then received a phone call and was told if I don[t sent them a current copy of my drivers licence that my account would be closed. The girl I spoke with said that every customer was required to go through the updating process.
My first thought was that the government was updating its precious metals confiscation list. Part of me still does think that.
