Considering keldun stated...
"in the range of $700 k - 1 mill for standard houses"
...for the location I am speaking of he is way of the mark.
If I could sell for that right now I would. Fact is the avarage is as I stated previously much lower than even $450-$500k which is the Perth total median.
Perth will experience a definate flat period for the next 12-24months then will continue on at normal average growth rates. Those who think otherwise are misleading and mistaken.
Those who believe that the mining and resources boom is over, well you really have no idea what is going on in WA over the next 6-10 years at least.
Watch the next phase when mining construction slows in 4-6years. The number of LNG and infrastructure projecs waiting to commence is mind blowing.
Worth doing research, not just read a report from some Sydney or Melbourne 'guru' who looks out of his office window in between reading some generalised statistics with no idea what is happening over here.
FWIW....Kalgoorlie is as I type taking off again.
Also this is what I have been referring to as I believe the REIA has it right. Considering I have been stating so since way before this article seems to support my own research and knowledge of what is ACTUALLY happening. Not what people THINK might be happening.

Well-located property, close to employment opportunities and infrastructure will continue to perform well," the outlook says.
"The upward movement in prices for other dwellings suggests that many home buyers are considering medium and higher density housing as more affordable options in a market where affordability is very low.
"It is likely that this sector will experience ongoing price growth during 2008."
Also I would believe Gavin Hegney before any eastern state desk jockey who thinks Rockigham is a swinging pig. Read the Nov API magazine as well, some at least know what IS going on.
The scare mongering going on is simply amasing and sadly some will fall prey to it. Just because Sydney and Melbourne collapsed it doesn't mean Perth must as well, in fact it won't.
