Yes that's a point of view. I dont know regional options will work. Maybe they wont. But not looking at it seems like giving up. Inner city hotels won't work forever. The States pay for them and the amounts are eye watering. Looking at alternatives like Toowoomba, next to an international standard airport, 60 minutes drive from Brisbane is logical. Howard Springs is quietly coping without any dramas. Lockdowns do hurt
Long weekend closures mean a lot of people don't work their casual shifts in hospitality. Tourism stops. Retailers shut. But fair enough, if you happy with the way it is then tickety boo for the next decade as we open and close ad nauseam. And States prop up international hotel chains. With our borrowed money. Our Fed's love throwing millions into the air and seeing where it lands. Just worth a serious look see surely.
