Sumitomo says nickel deficit of roughly 50kt this year. Would take stockpiles down to 150kt, we are already at lowest levels in 5yrs. Huayou cobalt up another 5%+ and up over 26% since bottoming, is this a bellwether for the sector? The rebound seems at odds with cobalt pricing and more to do with changing US/china sentiment, I presume because cobalt was on the tariff list drawn up by Mr Trump?
