I am not researched on SK Innovation to answer the question in detail, however it is my understanding that :
SK are a Fortune 500 company, a few years ago they were 57th on that global list, they are a South Korean outfit.
SK are heavily invested into the oil industry, they have heavy engineering manufacturing and even from my understanding their own bank.
SK are very aggressively growing their battery business, I suppose they accept that disruption to oil is on the way.
There are many arms to SK, they have a tough approach to business.
I understand they look for strong grounded long term partnerships.
SK have an engineering and a projects capability that would be very beneficial in a plant build situation.
I feel that a $1 billion US capital expenditure is a very achievable justification for SK.
In my opinion they will not mess around, if SK are in fact engaged with ARL, the 2.25m ton scoping study plant would be a start point.
