Solarbat is a good sort, been around for a while and understands the industry well.
For all my simple take is this. For China to meet their expectation of EVs going into 2021 at a conservative 13kg of "cobalt" per passenger vehicle they currently require minimum 30% of today's supply chain. Cobalt in my opinion is the underlying force, and ARL has plenty of it. Nickel of course is a major driver but the manufacturing make-up instilled requires cobalt; operational changes at the manufacturing level don't just change on a dime, particularly the car industry.
