Agree with your sentiment - Tesla's success or failure makes a huge difference to the legitimacy of the move to EVs.
Also note they are aiming to triple production by end 2023 more or less, so would be a 60kt/pa Nickel consumer.
VW has similar ambitions, as will any other automaker trying to keep pace with the market, so call VW a 60kt/pa Nickel consumer too.
And then throw in say Hyundai+Toyota+Nissan etc etc...
And you can start to see that while Tesla at ~ 15kt/pa today is a blip, but by 2023 the market will need to bring on Ni supply like there is no tomorrow.
Deals have to be done in the next 3-6mths I believe to meet the 2022/2023 horizon - as many here have posted already...
