I have known about this for some time.
We need to understand that China is the target market for LFP batteries primarily, they are lower in cost and lower in range, are also primarily China manufacture.
LFP batteries do not have the same energy density as that of NCA and NCM batteries, thus in more dense asian cities this battery technology works, not in places like Australia and the US / Canada where longer range is needed.

We also need to understand that Nickel batteries are going to be a challenge in the not too distant future if supply is not increased dramatically, so there needs to be cheaper alternatives if EV is to get penetration.
LFP has a place, it is not a major contender for range when weight is a consideration.
This is my current understanding.
